Recently I finished the MSc. program Business Administration at the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam. This masters program specializes on Information and Knowledge Management. Interesting courses include New Ways of Working, Knowledge Management Scan, Interactive Marketing, E-Business & Information Management and E-Business Development.
My MSc. thesis Business Administration was written with the help of Deloitte Consulting. The thesis was titled “The Effect of SaaS on the Roles of the IT organization. It focused on the changes Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) brings to the activities and roles performed in the IT department of organizations.
Before studying Business Administration I completed the MSc. program Information Sciences, also at the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam. Interesting courses included Advanced Requirements Engineering, Business Intelligence, Computer & Network Security, E-Business, Enterprise Systems, Management of Information Systems and Software Architecture.
I completed my MSc. thesis Information Sciences at Accenture focusing on how privacy legislation affects the adoption of Cloud Computing and vice versa. The results of my thesis are about to be published in the proceedings of the Workshop on Security and Privacy in Cloud Computing (SPCC 2010) and the Automatisering Gids. Once these are published they can be obtained via the Documents link above. In the meantime my thesis is available for download.
Both master programs are related to my interests in IT. The courses and graduation assignment gave me a solid background on Cloud Computing, Social Media, Business Intelligence, E-Business, Security and Information Systems in general. Additionally, my studies gave me experiences in team based projects, including projects at various organizations. These organizations include ABN Amro, the AMC (academic hospital), the VU-Library and Ymere. Furthermore my studies guided me onĀ various operating systems, Java, VBA, Microsoft Office related products, and the occasional working-under-pressure. Currently I am also a member of the Sogeti Studentenunit. The Sogeti Studentenunit allows me to enhance various skills through courses and seminars.
As for hobbies, I like to cook, participate in sports (both active and passive) and play an occasional video game. My culinary experiences and related information can be found in my blog. Currently the blog is quite empty, but more posts will be added over time.
